For the temporary relief of redness and itching of the eye due to seasonal and perennial allergies such as hay fever or house dust allergy. Ingredients: Xylometazoline hydrochloride0.05% Antazoline sulphate0.5% Usage Instructions Adults: 1 or 2 drops instilled 2 - 3 times a day. Children : No specific studies are available in this patient group. Due to possible systemic effects, Otrivine-Antistin is not recommended for use in children younger than 12 years of age. Elderly: One drop instilled 2 to 3 times a day. Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops should not be used for more than seven consecutive days. Warnings If you are going to have an anaesthetic you should tell your doctor you are using Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops. Do not give this medicine to children younger than 12 years of age due to possible systemic effects. Do not give to a child less than 2 years old as this medicine contains boron and may impair fertility in the future. Do not Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops if: You are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or antazoline sulphate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. You have a condition called narrow angle glaucoma. You wear contact lenses of any type. You are taking, or in the last 14 days have taken, one of a group of anti-depressant drugs called monoamineoxidase inhibitors. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops if: You have high blood pressure, a heart condition, a thyroid problem or diabetes. You are pregnant or breastfeeding. You suffer from dry eyes. You have difficulty in urinating (passing water). You have an adrenal tumour (phaeochromocytoma). You are taking other medicines. Some medicines can interfere with your treatment. This means medicines you have bought yourself as well as medicines on prescription from your doctor. Tell your doctor if - you are taking any other medication Some people may experience blurred vision after using Otrivine Antistin Eye Drops. If you are affected, you should not drive or use machinery. The eye drops contain benzalkonium chloride. This medicine contains 2.8 micrograms benzalkonium chloride in each drop, which is equivalent to 0.1 mg/ml. Benzalkonium chloride may cause eye irritation, especially if you have dry eyes or disorders of the cornea (the clear layer at the front of the eye). If you feel abnormal eye sensation, stinging or pain in the eye after using this medicine, talk to your doctor.
